Christian Wilhelm Seltmann and his oldest brother Johann founded a porcelain factory in 1901 in the German city of Vohenstrauß.
Christian died in an accident in 1921. Management of the factory was taken over by his widow Katharina Seltmann. In 1928, the company passed into the hands of her older son Wilhelm. As part of the expansion, Porzellanfabrik Krummennaab (1939) and Porzellanfabrik Erbendorf (1940) were taken over. In 1957, the Königlich privilegierte Porzellanfabrik Tettau G.m.b.H. was taken over.
